Alexander Mikroyannidis presented a paper on Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) for Inquiry-Based Learning last week at the PLE conference in Berlin. The event was well attended and was broadcasted live. The PLE conference is an annual international scientific conference delivering a space for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas, experiences and research around the development and implementation of PLEs, including the design of environments and the sociological and educational issues that they raise.
The work Alexander presented is being conducted in the context of the weSPOT project. weSPOT is a new project supported by the European Commission, aiming at propagating scientific inquiry as the approach for science learning and teaching in combination with today’s curricula and teaching practices. weSPOT lowers the threshold for linking everyday life with science teaching in schools by technology.
